Substitute plan unveiled for social photographers

Wedding and portrait photographers can now join a scheme, which covers them if they’re unable to fulfil a booking.

PhotoFill is designed for photographers who work alone, providing substitutes to cover shoots in the event of last minute illness or emergency. Photographers who sign up will, in turn, be offered extra work filling in for colleagues. Their details will also be made available to members of the public looking for a professional to shoot their social event or wedding day.

The system is the brainchild of social photographer Rona Cox, who also runs Photo Start Up, a wedding and portrait correspondence training course. Photographers who sign up must have been working for at least a year.
